I am one of *those* people who was obsessed with Pinkberry when it first opened. I would eat it for meals or as a post-workout treat. And I would eat it a lot – at least a few times a week! My favorite flavor was the green tea and I would get it with fresh mangos, blueberries and something else (sometimes kiwi, other times toasted almonds). Yum!
But then something terrible happened. Pinkberry started replacing their green tea flavor with “seasonal flavors”. And that was basically the end of me and Pinkberry. They had a very mild green tea powder that they would likely sprinkle upon request, but it just wasn’t the same. Neither was the green tea flavor at any of the other yogurt shops.
Awhile ago I bought some premium culinary matcha to experiment with dessert recipes. At some point I tried mixing it with some Greek yogurt and – yum! Wow! The flavor is pretty damn close to that Pinkberry green tea yogurt, except that it’s not frozen and the green tea flavor is stronger. I add some fruit to it and it’s a great breakfast treat!
1 cup of Greek yogurt
1/2 tablespoon premium, high quality culinary matcha – I recommend Breakaway Matcha
lots of cut up fruit – I prefer blueberries & mango!
1. Add the matcha to the yogurt and mix thoroughly.
2. Add the fruit, mix, and eat!
