I have a bad tendency of buying the same styles over and over again. So, now when I shop, I think about what else I have in my closet that is similar and whether the item I’m looking at is really distinctive enough to have a place in my closet. Many times the answer is no. But this season there are trends that are twists on some classics, and a few of these WILL make their way into my fall wardrobe (and yours too).
hat: I usually leave hats for the beach to keep the sun out of my eyes. But a great hat is THE season’s accessory, with no functional reason other than looking good. No bad hair day needed. My pick: J.Crew hat
loafers: I’ve been wearing loafers for years, whether they are in season or not. But now the styles are more masculine and extreme. It’s the perfect piece to complete your work style. My picks: Tod’s loafers // 3.1 Phillip Lim loafers
slightly distressed jeans: I like to pair some of my most polished pieces with distressed jeans. This season’s styles are subtle compared to the past and only slightly distressed. My pick: Zara distressed jeans
blazers with detail: Blazers are ALWAYS in style and something every woman should own. But if you’re like me and wear blazers to the office at least a few times a week, you’ll want to pick up a blazer with some detail or a fun color. My picks: Tibi feather blazer // Zara blazer with zips
