I’ve always had breakout-prone skin. Mostly clear, but a pimple here and there. Of course the better I take care of my skin, the less likely I am to experience the occasional zit. And working for a skincare company with great products has helped! But then sometimes I get lazy and a bad habit becomes obvious on my face. Bad habit zits can be pretty damn embarrassing and are easiest to avoid. Here are just a few of those that may cause the unfortunate breakout.
skipping the post-workout rinse
A good workout routine can help clear up skin. But the sweat that piles on the face can quickly dry and clog your pores… resulting in the unfortunate breakout. Avoid this by washing your face immediately after you wrap up the workout. (Catch my other fitness beauty hacks here)
being too tired to remove your makeup
This is the most obvious one that all of us are guilty of. Wash off your makeup!! It’s always best to use a good cleanser and water, but in the case of extremely lazy emergencies you can reach for makeup wipes.
sleeping on a dirty pillow
Gross! But seriously, not washing your pillow regularly translates to dirt and bacteria buildup and that is the last thing you want on your face for 7-8 hours!
getting hair product on your face
It is very easy for some of your hair product to get on your face. If you’re using oils like I do, this can be especially bad for the skin. Always do your hair first and then wash your hands and face before applying your makeup.
unnecessarily touching your face
This is by far my worst habit. I tend to rest my face on my hand when I’m listening attentively in a meeting. I have to actively force myself not to do this. The oils from the hands can get on the face and… you guessed it, cause you to breakout.
