In triathlon training, we’re told to “get comfortable being uncomfortable”. In the professional world, I hear people say “fake it till you make it”. Growth is all about pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. Being an uber type A, I would say that I’m getting pretty damn good at pushing the limits… and these days it feels like that is how I’m spending most of my time. Every so often I need to remind myself to relax and to actually be comfortable with just being comfortable. This weekend was just that.
One of my closest friends from college, Amanda, came to visit from LA and it’s always great to spend time with the people you’re comfortable with and who are most important. I kept the weekend low key, in particularly on Saturday when we trekked over to the other side of the bay to Sausalito. I wore my favorite go-to pants with a loose fitting top (perfect for indulging in some good eats) and broke in my new mint green sneakers! After just a bit of exploring, we went to Salito’s for some tasty seafood (and a nutritious Bloody Mary), and then spent a few hours by the water at Bar Bocce for some more drinks and small bites. The day started out a little breezy, but I was really happy when the sun eventually came out! It was relaxing and comfortable lazy Saturday. Just what I needed!
