With warm summer weather, the last place any of us want to be is the office. I enjoy my job and all, but when there is a heat wave, I’m just counting down the hours till I can leave and enjoy a glass of rose while soaking in some vitamin D. Or is that just me?
It’s easy to get slightly distracted during the summer months and to even get sloppy with your office style. But no matter how casual your office dress code is, it’s always important to look professional and put together. The LA girl in me loves all my sundresses, but let’s face it – alone they aren’t office appropriate. There are many summer pieces that can be creatively styled to look polished, but I have 3 favorite spring/summer trends that are perfect for day to night wear.
pale blazer – Every girl needs to have at least 1 blazer. Whenever I question if an outfit is too casual, I’ll throw on a blazer and suddenly I feel and look a lot more put together. This season, I’m loving the pale (or blush) blazer to lighten up my office look.
my picks: drapey // classic
mule shoe – The mule is a hot trend for this season, and I love that it is almost a hybrid bootie/sandal. A great mule makes even a pair of jeans or casual trousers look very chic. And it’s a pseudo sandal that you can wear to the office, no questions asked.
my picks: black open-toe // white buckle // taupe peep-toe
printed pants – Lightweight printed pants can borderline into pajama territory and for that reason, I was hesitant to get on board with this trend. But I’m loving the floral and geometric patterns this season and with a slightly fitted design, this is a very professional office look. In fact, you can throw on a blazer and a pair of mules with it and you’re office chic.
my picks: black geometric // abstract floral // black/white orchid
Which of these trends will you be wearing in the office? Any other summer office style tips?
