Today is a special day for beauty and sass – it’s been 1 year since I wrote my first blog post! To celebrate the birthday, I decided to give beauty and sass the gift of beauty: a mini face lift. Throughout the year, I’ve written about a lot of different topics so I used this face lift to make the website a little easier to navigate and to help find topics that you’re the most interested. Aside from the very pink look and feel, here are the main changes to beauty and sass:
a gallery of recent posts to scroll through on the homepage: The continuous feed of posts have been removed. Now below the post recent post, you will be able to scroll through a featured image and an excerpt of each post (starting with the most recent) and select which one you want to read in its entirety. You can scroll down after this post to see what this looks like on the site.
a drop down of sub-categories on the main menu: Each category on the main menu now has a drop down of sub-categories to allow you to find exactly what you’re looking for. For example, you can find sweet, savory, drink, gluten free, and vegetarian recipes on the recipe tab.
an image grid gallery under each category: If you click on any menu item (category or sub-category), you will find a gallery of images along with the title of the post to help you find topics you may be interested. This is a beauty blog and beauty is visual, so this replaces the text excerpts in the previous version.
easy to pin images: Pinterest is my favorite social media website and I love images that are easy to pin. Now t here is a Pin button on every image on this site so that you can click and pin directly. Another side note on social media – I’ve added my social media links to the right and the top of the blog so you can easily follow me. If you want to share a particular blog post in something under than Pinterest, you can find the share buttons on the bottom of each post.
I hope that you enjoy the new site! Have any feedback? Let me know in the comments below!
