We all have our beauty products we can’t live without. I have dark under eye circles, so on most days I will wear both foundation and concealer. I think for anyone who has dark circles, it’s a struggle to find products and techniques that actually work. Over the years, I’ve received a lot of different tips from people and have gotten down to a process that actually helps to cosmetically conceal my circles (using some of my favorite makeup brushes.) The only other alternative is wearing very large sunglasses or thick frames (which sometimes I do instead of this routine!)
What you’ll need:
eye cream (my pick: Bliss Triple Oxygen Eye Gel)
foundation (my pick: Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15)
foundation brush (my pick: MAC 190 Foundation Brush)
pink lipstick (my pick: MAC lipstick Pink Plaid)
concealer (my pick: Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit)
concealer brush (my pick: MAC 195 Concealer Brush)
powder (my pick: MAC ‘Mineralize’ Loose Powder)
What you’ll do:
Step 1: After applying your facial moisturizer and eye cream, apply your foundation all over. Use the foundation brush to gently spread the foundation under your eye as well. For many people, this is enough coverage and you stop here. Lucky you!
Step 2 (the secret tip!): Generously apply a pink lipstick directly on the dark areas (the inner and outer corners of your eyes). Allow the color to absorb (about 2 minutes). The pink acts as a corrector and counteracts the blueness that a concealer can’t cover.
Step 3: Using a concealer brush, generously apply your concealer directly on top of the pink areas as well as the rest of your under eye area.
Step 4: Blend the concealer and set the look with a powder. Follow up with the rest of your beauty regimen.
